NSA Wiki:About
So, a little bit about this wiki. There has always been sOME sort of NSA wiki, but for a long time they were mostly just really long google docs. There were also tons of copies of the "wiki," sometimes with conflicting information. Included below are links to all of the sources - these are where the majority of the information on this wiki came from. But anywho, in the spring of 2023, an effort was made to try to consolidate the info onto one website. It was successful, and that site was used for quite a while. However, it had quite a few issues. It ran on the Nextcloud "Collectives" app, which isn't really meant for such high traffic. It has no moderation features, so it was locked it down so that only one person could edit it. Also, all the links to pages were ridiculously long and suspicious-looking. So, everything was migrated to a MediaWiki server. It's actually the same software on which Wikipedia runs! It's been quite stable since. People seem to like it in general, and it's been working well. Late in 2024, the service used for domain, nsa.awiki.org decided to no longer offer support. So, since then Riley Nielsen has been paying for the domain nsa-wiki.org. He plans to keep doing so indefinitely (thanks, Riley!) Currently, there are four moderators (people who can approve edits.) They are Owen Behrens, Mark Huang, Jacob Grady, and Noah Pendley. Mark has taken over a lot of the moderation and editing, and has all the source documents and other NSA-related files that have been collected over time.
