Spoony, as many of our readers know, you are the fabulous mascot for "The Spoon". How long have you been the mascot? *silence... as the 6-foot tall spoon, standing in front the microphone, looks at me quizzically*

Ah, I forgot, Spoony is currently on a silence strike for more fruit. He believes he is not being fed well enough with juicy news, so he is angry. If you have any pity on me, please send in your juicy NSA news as soon as possible so that Spoony will talk again.

As we can not interview Spoony in this article, we will have to turn to the alternative- QUESTIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE!

This week Brooke Foster asked, "Why Spoony? Why not Kevin?"

Thank you Brooke for that awesome question! The answer lies merely in my abundance of creativity. I have always been a creative child with a wild imagination, and when I thought of what I should call the 6-foot tall mysterious mascot of "The Spoon", I realized almost automatically that Spoony was the best name. Also, who would think of naming a spoon Kevin? That is just a wacky name for such a respected and loved mascot.

Monthly Happenings

- Brianna Harpel is finally an adult! She turned 18 on January 14, and word has it that she is now on the lookout to scold NSA "children" who don't follow the rules. Watch out everyone- we have an adult in our midst!

- Ethan Guynn has bypassed Carolyn Sie on the leaderboard in the Bulletin Board. Although this may seem like a success to you innocent bystanders, on further research it may be found that Ethan Guynn is in fact the Head Meme Judge and an editor on the Bulletin Board team. Some people fear that there are illegal dealings going on in the background- though if there is truth to this or not, that is for the reader to decide.

- Andrew Marbut has made a goal to climb four different mountains to raise money for the organization called "Speed of Light". If you would like to help support him call J-O-I-L M-A-R-B-U-T, I repeat that is J-O-I-L M-A-R-B-U-T.

- The Christmas Celebration (aka dance) happened recently. We had one adorable couple attending. They were Lazar Naskov and Samantha Aquino who arrived by B.O.A.T.

- The Music contest took place this last month. Timothy Jin won in first, Olivia Bolles in second, and Brooke Foster in third. Surprisingly enough, a boy won in this contest (unlike the Writing and Art Contest, which had all girl winners). The judges must have heard the plee for justice and made sure that the male population had a fair chance of winning in this contest. However, some fear that this will not last for long.
