<p>added from collectives</p> <p><b>New page</b></p><div>&#039;&#039;by Mia Braun&#039;&#039;<br /> &lt;poem style=&quot;border: 2px solid #113e60; background-color: #cee5f6; padding: .5em;&quot;&gt;<br /> The misty night sky loomed overhead<br /> Leaving the fog underneath, mislead;<br /> The mucky grass, twitching with the wind<br /> It was all silent<br /> <br /> Yet, take a closer look through the dense veil<br /> There is a shadow hurtling<br /> Moving with the cover of dark<br /> A girl, once a star<br /> <br /> The dress, the one she wears<br /> The one that used to be so fair<br /> Now faded, ragged and colorless<br /> Matched her teary eyes, once full of childhood bliss<br /> <br /> She dropped to her knees, no care for the mud<br /> Her soul, stained with scars of blood<br /> No one was near, to hear her falling tears<br /> Nor listen to the pain of her screaming heart.<br /> <br /> The dark and emptiness encircled her;<br /> Yet she closed her eyes to see it<br /> She had tried to hide her pain<br /> But the act was impossible to keep<br /> <br /> Hope had left her<br /> Left her in a blurr<br /> A knockout, a haze<br /> Only, she still kept asking<br /> <br /> Where was this little light that glowed?<br /> The face of hope that wouldn’t show?<br /> The medicine to heal her acid tears<br /> Dripping from her face, raising her fears<br /> Where was this little light?<br /> <br /> The freezing warmth gave her no comfort<br /> All she wanted now was to lock away<br /> the keys of the doors to her heart—<br /> Which had already been torn apart<br /> <br /> Nobody asked her if she was alright<br /> Nobody saw the fire in her lungs that ignites<br /> The fears, the pressure, the element<br /> Pushing her down on her knees, was it not evident?<br /> <br /> Nobody asked her if she was alright<br /> No matter—even if they did, she would say<br /> Everything was alright, she was alright<br /> Nothing was wrong<br /> Yet nobody asked her if she could prolong<br /> <br /> All she wanted now was<br /> To never let anyone in, for fear they’d part again<br /> How could she do this twice?<br /> How could she pay that price?<br /> <br /> On her inside there was this burning,<br /> A screaming voice yearning,<br /> For the truth of what fate had done<br /> Had it really taken away that someone?<br /> <br /> She looked up at the sky for help,<br /> searching the stars for an answer<br /> There was none<br /> Death had won<br /> <br /> How could she have known on the day they met,<br /> That this would only be a Romeo and Juliet<br /> &lt;/poem&gt;</div>
