Editing The Student Council President

== The Student Council President is of course the elected President of the elected Student Council of each year. ==


The President runs student council in a way and handles the most responsibility as all roles report to this position.  However, the Communications team more than others.  The president grants final approval of projects, delegates responsibilities as necessary, ensure that the StuCo remains efficient in executing its responsibilities, assist responsible students and staff in the monitoring of public teams, with (if needed) delegation to other StuCo member [Any real-life questionable actions, situations, or instances should be reported to them, and also NSA Administration and Staff].  The President is accountable to the StuCo advisor staff for that year, and any NSA administration that NorthStar deems as necessary.  The President is also encouraged to use them for advice in how to run and lead the council.  The President leads the Student Council in meetings, assists members in executing positions to best of ability and if necessary, the president of that year may amend the governing documents according to the appropriate amending procedures.


Like most positions in StuCo, it is an elected position, the most votes win, and fulfill these requirements (2023).

* Be listed as graduating from NorthStar in Genius.

* Be currently enrolled in at least 4 classes.

* Be eligible for grade-level promotion next August.

* Have a C-average or better.

* Not have had a paid extension for the past two semesters.

* Not have had a disciplinary infraction at NSA.
* Must take the LEAD300 Class with an EVP class.
* Must have at least a year of Student Council experience.
* Must be in high school? (idk about this)

''Being president is so much less and so much more than it sounds. It’s less glorious, maybe. Less specific-public-areas work, sure. Less creating, I guess that too. ''Being president of Student Council is really about bridging the gap between students and faculty/staff. When you're with adults in charge, you're representing the voice of the students. When you're with the students, you're representing the voice of the staff members. StuCo is there to bring those two groups of people together, to help reach compromises and minimize disagreements. Different people on StuCo have different roles within that (clubs, welcome committee, etc.), but a lot of the responsibility to meet the overall goal of bringing people together falls to the president.''

== The Lore of the Presidential Office ==


The President also has NSA lore attached to it, mostly stemming from the team's era.

===== Seal Of Approval =====
The President has access to the Seal of approve, a seal that gives approval to certain things to be passed.  This seal is of course a seal of a large-ish size and has tusks.  Yes, I said it was a seal.  It only imparts it's wisdom to the President, and rarely moves.  It also likes looking out the Trapezoidal office window.  It often is called the mascot of the presidency, just like Sir Quackers is the mascot of the Welcome Committee.  This seal originated around the time of the Cody Johnson, Brooke Foster presidential years.  Brooke Foster popularized it around 2020.

===== The Trapezoidal Office =====
This was officially installed open the request of Cora Metzger, to replicate the USA President's Oval Officer.  Of course, the Trapezoid is better than an Oval.  Is the sitting area of the StuCo President.  It is equipped with soft cushions (for stressful decisions [and for screaming into]), fuzzy blankets (for being warm and comfy), a TV (for tv shows or news), a state-of-the-art security system (To keep Gabe Nelson from knocking down the door whenever he has an idea), and a meeting room with a trapezoidal table (for official meetings).
